Home learning culture

pp. 84, 105

A home learning culture is an atmosphere in the home that encourages learning, in which learning is a natural part of everyday life.

One obvious way your computer can contribute to developing a home learning culture is by constantly challenging you to learn to use it.

There is an endless supply of new computer skills to acquire. You should learn some of these with your children. Indeed, some of them can probably learned from your children.

But you should also be ready to talk in an uninhibited way with your children about learning you did on your own and about the difficulties you encountered, whether you overcame them or not.
